GREAT SEASON of ART!

Announcing the brand new Artist in Residence Program in Angel Fire!

We have actually been working on this for quite a while, but it appears we are almost ready.  Working with a local building and business owner, the apartment is being readied, just upstairs from the Angel Fire ArtSpace Gallery.  In preparation for the completion of that process, we are making the official announcement and preparing the application.

Here's the scoop:

The MVAC will provide a 1 bedroom apartment (2nd floor, no elevator) for periods of three to six months.  Studio/display space for two dimensional visual artists or jewelers.  We cannot accommodate sculptors, potters or similar artists at this time, though we are hoping to add that in the future.  The MVAC will promote the Artist and sponsor at least two events:  a welcome reception and a feature reception featuring the work created during the artist's tenure here.  The MVAC will add a special page to the website, with information about the artist and with images of the artist's work, with a link to the artist's own website, if requested.

The Artist will create two works which will be donated to the MVAC:  One for the MVAC permanent collection and one to be auctioned with proceeds benefitting the MVAC.

The Artist will provide one hands-on workshop in our local school(s) as part of our ArtDays Program. The MVAC will pay the Artist a stipend and materials for the workshop. The Artist will also provide at least one community workshop with 20% of proceeds benefitting the MVAC.  Workshops will be promoted outside of Angel Fire as well, and to the Artists own "list".

THe MVAC will not provide any supplies, other than the materials fee for the in-school event.
